The primary purpose of the International Red Brangus Breeders Association (IRBBA) is to identify Red Brangus ancestry, record transfer of ownership, compile performance information, create communication among the membership and promote the Red Brangus breed. For purebred cattle to be of value, absolute accuracy of parentage is mandatory. Without this background information, breeding programs cannot function and genetic strengths and weaknesses cannot be identified with confidence.
The compilation of breed information is the dual responsibility of the breeder and the breed association. If a breeder's records are exact and up to date, and this information is transmitted to the IRBBA as recommended, the processes of recording and transferring can be very simple. Complete procedures have been developed that parallel the parameters designated by our Bylaws and related policies. The IRBBA Handbook is prepared for the purpose of acquainting Red Brangus breeders with the steps they must follow to enroll, certify, register and transfer Red Brangus foundation and purebred cattle. We highly recommend that every new and old IRBBA member analyze this information very closely before submitting their business to the IRBBA office for processing. This will simplify everyone's efforts and will certainly expedite the workflow to and from your operations.
The sole desire of the IRBBA staff is to assist Red Brangus breeders with their cattle operations. If we can intelligently communicate with each other concerning our joint responsibilities in recording breed information, our efforts can be more efficiently utilized to hasten the progress of Red Brangus cattle, which is the mandatory ingredient in assuring financial success for everyone involved.
