COX EXCALIBUR BRANGUS
LCox Excalibur Brangus started in 1983, when Don and Gina bought their first Red Brangus cattle. The passion for cattle started many years earlier. Don would spend time as a young boy on the ranch in the summers visiting and helping his grandparents. Don's family also took vacations to a dude ranch in Bandera, Texas called Peaceful Valley for seven years. Don's love for the ranching industry grew at a young age. In fact, this year 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the ranch that is now called Cox Excalibur. In 1983, Don started buying out his aunts and uncles to own the original Krejci Ranch that started in 1911. The house that was built in 1911 was the homestead of the Krejci family and Don's mother Viola was actually born in that house. The house is being restored and will remain on the Cox Excalibur Ranch. In 1995, the ranch to the west of the Krejci Ranch was bought and now is the headquarters for Cox Excalibur.
Our mission for 29 years of breeding Red Brangus has been to add proven genetics year after year, while not sacrificing productive traits. CX has been relentless in finding genetic contributors for improvement. Cox Excalibur uses Red Angus, ½ bloods, ¾ bloods, and black Brangus to contribute the genetic improvement. |
